5 Things You Need to Do In Palm Beach

I’m home!

I grew up in West Palm Beach & these last 12 years I’ve changed and so has the area.

Now, I’m here on my own and excited to explore all of the new things & some that I never got the chance to try.

  1. Saturday Green Market

Every Saturday morning starting October 7th at 9am-1pm, a charcuterie of vendors are layering their goods just so for you to enjoy.

West Palm Beach’s Green Market is South Florida’s farmers market Mecca, after being voted the best farmers market in the country 3 years in a row. You can pick up fresh fruits and veggies, smoothies, acai bowls, find the perfect summer dress, a bucket purse with the perfect bleached tortoise shell chain, & fresh flowers for the week ahead all in one trip. According to my professional Palm Beach-er source [my childhood neighbor Taryn], you haven’t been to the market unless you’ve stopped at Cider Donuts. I went to the opening day just to snatch my first bag of cider donuts before the line got too long. They are best during the colder Florida month’s, so that you can enjoy them fresh off the press, or whatever they’re made on.

Here’s a farmer’s market tip, don’t go to opening day like I did. I know you’re itching to kick off the winter weekends with this stop, but everyone else in Palm Beach county has the same idea. For an ease stroll with plenty of people watching wait a weekend or two for normal crowds. The best months to add this activity to your weekend plans is late October - February, before it gets too hot.

2. Polo Brunch in Wellington

Looking for a way to treat yourself, your girls, or your partner in crime?

Dress up like a member of the royal family & enjoy endless mimosas while you watch some of the best polo players on the green.

Join on April 7th to get a ticket to the U.S. Open Polo Championship. Wellington, Florida is the winter polo capitol of the world [if my sources are correct], so if you can’t make it to a brunch, there are equestrian shows every Saturday afternoon at noon & night with public shows on Thursdays where you just have to pay the $25 parking fee to enjoy this seasonal treat!

Ever since I’ve grown up here, I’ve had this one on my Wellington bucket list. I think next year will be my year!

3. Antique Row

Make a day of it!

Whether you’re looking for design inspo or hoping to find a one of a kind piece to layer in your home, antique row has it & a bit more.

My favorite part of antique row are the characters. The shop owners & merchandizers are the most stylish and approachable people in downtown West Palm Beach. They have their finger on the pulse of design & make stopping by their shop in person worth it.

4. Colony Hotel & Trivia

Get a taste for the Palm Beach aesthetic at this iconic hotel just off of Worth Avenue, The Colony Hotel, by popping in just after work on a Monday afternoon for trivia night from 5:30-7pm at Swifty’s, their poolside restaurant & club bar.

It’s the perfect place to do some people watching & catch an endless flow of Palm Beach fashion strutting in, out, & around the hotel. If you decide to turn your visit into a stay please reach out and let me know how you liked it!

5. Armory Arts Center

Here’s one for my fellow creatives!

We all get into creative ruts & hit burn out. It’s a part of the process, but I’ve found that mixing up my artistic mediums does just the trick to start the flow again.

The Armory Arts Center has an eclectic mix of art classes from sculpting to still life painting to wheel throwing & so many more. What I love about this activity is that you can sign up to a class & feel the creative energy of being in a classroom with kindred spirits who also love to make beautiful meaningful things.
